Sunday Summer Madness (ages 4-13)

Slide1Invented by Martin Higgins who wrote the now famous (or was that infamous) Summer Madness song.

During the school summer holidays a group of volunteers of all ages take children who are around for a time of singing drama craft and games during the Sunday morning service. It’s informal and there are sometimes guest speakers.

There is always even in this informal time a person who is contracted to the Disclosure and Barring Service and DBS check.

The Church is a family. The apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesian church “you are not strangers any longer; you are fellow citizens with Gods people and members of the family of God.”

However well run families have rules so we do encourage parents to take responsibility for their children when they return from their groups.

Because we believe that children can decide to follow Jesus within their understanding at an early age we do not preclude children from taking communion (breaking of bread). We leave the decision to the parents to decide if they partake.

Please never feel sorry for those of us who leave the meeting with the children and “miss out”. I know I speak for most of us when I say that there is nowhere else we would rather be. We are always learning and we try to do an excellent job for Jesus and the privilege is ours to teach your children.
